Perfect Recipe for Khoya and Til Laddu (Soft, Granular, and Delicious) | Khoya Laddu
Hello friends! 👋
Today we are going to make the most nutritious and delicious sweet for the winter season—Khoya and White Sesame Seed Laddu (Khoya Til Laddu). These laddus are so granular and soft that they simply melt in your mouth! Whether it's Makar Sankranti or any festival, this recipe is ready in just 10 minutes.
Recipe Highlights:
• Granular Khoya: We achieve a perfect granular texture by re-roasting the store-bought khoya (milk solids).
• Perfect Roasting: The correct way to lightly roast the White Sesame Seeds (Til).
• Easy Mixing: It's very easy to gently mix the ingredients with your hands and shape the laddus.
Khoya Til Laddu Step-by-Step Recipe
Ingredients:
• 1 cup (approx. 250g) Khoya/Mawa (Milk Solids)
• 1 cup White Sesame Seeds (Til)
• Powdered Sugar (Boora/Tagar) to taste (adjust based on preference, approx. 1 cup)
• 1 tsp Desi Ghee (Clarified Butter)
• A splash of Milk (for roasting khoya)
Instructions:
1. Preparing the Khoya (Mawa):
• First, heat a pan (kadahi).
• Add a small splash of milk and then add the market-bought Khoya (Mawa).
• Start roasting it over medium heat.
2. Roasting the Khoya:
• Keep stirring the khoya continuously to prevent it from sticking or burning.
• When it starts turning a light brown color and begins to leave the sides of the pan, add about 1 teaspoon of Desi Ghee (Clarified Butter) and mix well.
• Tip: Adding ghee enhances the color and flavor of the khoya and helps it roast quickly.
• Once roasted, take the khoya out into a bowl or plate and let it cool completely.
3. Roasting the Sesame Seeds (Til):
• In the same pan, add 1 cup of White Sesame Seeds.
• Roast the sesame seeds on low heat until they slightly change color and become fragrant (this usually takes about 2-3 minutes).
• Caution: Do not over-roast them, as it will make the taste bitter.
• Let the roasted sesame seeds cool completely as well.
4. Coarse Grinding:
• Once both the sesame seeds and khoya are cool, transfer the roasted sesame seeds into a mixer grinder.
• Lightly grind the sesame seeds into a coarse (mota) texture. Do not make a fine powder.
5. Preparing the Laddu Mixture:
• In a large mixing bowl, combine the roasted and cooled khoya, the coarsely ground sesame seeds, and powdered sugar (Boora/Tagar) to taste.
6. Mixing:
• Gently and thoroughly mix all the ingredients with your hands.
• Ensure that the sugar and sesame seeds are fully incorporated into the khoya. The warmth from your hands will help the mixture bind.
7. Shaping the Laddus:
• Take a small portion of the mixture in your hand and gently shape it into round laddus.
8. Coating (Optional):
• Finally, for a beautiful texture, you can coat the prepared laddus by rolling them in a bowl containing a few whole (unground) sesame seeds.
Your Khoya Til Laddu is ready! This sweet is very easy to make at home and is also very good for your health, especially in the cold weather.
