Motivational story in English : The value of a stone

Title- The Value of a Stone

There was a diamond merchant known for his expertise in diamonds. However, he passed away at a young age due to a serious illness, leaving behind his wife and son. When the son grew up, his mother said, "Son, your father left a stone before he died. Take it to the market and find out its value. Remember, you should only find out the price; do not sell it."

The young man took the stone and set out. First, he met a vegetable vendor. "Auntie, what can you give me for this stone?" he asked. "If you must trade, then give it to me for two carrots... it will be useful for weighing," replied the vendor.

He moved on and approached a shopkeeper who said, "I can give you a maximum of 500 rupees for this. If you want to sell, fine; otherwise, move on." Next, he visited a jeweler who offered 20,000 rupees for the stone. Then, he went to a prestigious jewelry store where he received an offer of 100,000 rupees. Finally, he reached the city's foremost diamond expert and asked, "Sir, could you please tell me the value of this stone?"

The expert examined the stone closely and, looking astonished, said, "This is a priceless diamond; it would be hard to find such a diamond even for millions."

Moral of the story: "As long as you don’t have the courage to run, the competition will seem impossible to you."
