"The Consequences of Misusing Power: A Lesson in Responsibility and Humility"

Motivational story in English- Title- Misuse of Power Can Also Lead to Failure In a dense forest, there lived a famous sage who had a unique ability—whoever stood before him, he could instantly read their thoughts. Every day, the animals of the forest would come to listen to the sage’s spiritual teachings, and he would share valuable lessons about life. Among them was a little mouse, who also came daily to listen to the sage. The mouse always brought some fruit from the forest as an offering, which the sage gladly accepted. One day, while the mouse was collecting berries for the sage, a cat attacked him. Terrified, the mouse ran as fast as he could and reached the sage’s ashram, trembling as he narrated the incident. Just then, the cat also arrived, asking the sage for permission to take her prey. Since the mouse had sought refuge in the ashram, the sage couldn’t allow the cat to harm him. However, at the same time, denying the cat her food would be an act of injustice. To resolve this moral dilemma, the sage used his divine powers and transformed the mouse into a large cat. Seeing the bigger cat before her, the original cat fled in fear, and both the mouse’s life and the sage’s righteousness were preserved. But now, a new problem arose. Since the mouse was no longer a mouse but a cat, he became arrogant, believing that no one could harm him anymore. He roamed the jungle fearlessly, intimidating smaller animals and fighting with other cats whenever he got the chance. One day, a fox attacked him. Once again, the mouse-turned-cat ran in fear and sought refuge in the sage’s ashram. The fox followed him and requested the sage to hand over her prey. Again, faced with a moral dilemma, the sage used his powers to transform the cat into a large fox. The attacking fox, now faced with a bigger fox, ran away in terror. The newly transformed fox continued his reckless ways, becoming even more oppressive toward smaller animals. He believed that he was the most powerful creature in the jungle. Then, one day, a tiger attacked him. The terrified fox-turned-mouse ran back to the sage’s ashram, closely followed by the tiger, who also pleaded with the sage for his prey. Once again, the sage used his powers and transformed the fox into a mighty tiger. Seeing a larger tiger in front of him, the original tiger fled in fear. Now, believing himself to be the strongest being in the jungle, the mouse-turned-tiger wandered freely, terrorizing smaller creatures. He had become so cruel that if the sage had been able to read the minds of all creatures and not just those in his presence, he would have known about the atrocities the mouse was committing. Eventually, the tiger realized that if any animal complained to the sage, he would be turned back into a mouse, and all the animals he had tormented would surely take revenge. The only way to prevent this was to eliminate the sage himself. Thinking this, he decided to kill the sage and went to the ashram with this evil intention. However, as soon as he reached the sage, the wise man read his thoughts and instantly transformed him back into a tiny mouse. Now, facing certain death at the hands of the very animals he had oppressed, the mouse regretted his actions. But it was too late—he had lost his power due to his own misuse of it. Lessons from the Story: Never give anyone excessive power—and if you do, take it back as soon as the purpose is fulfilled. Otherwise, the one you empower might turn against you, just as the mouse tried to kill the sage who had helped him.
The true giver of power always keeps the ultimate control—as the sage did. If he hadn't had the ability to read minds, the mouse would have succeeded in his evil plan. Power should make one more humble, not arrogant. With great power comes great responsibility. If the mouse had used his newfound strength to protect the weak instead of oppressing them, he would never have felt the need to attack the sage, and he would have remained powerful forever. Moral of the Story: "The crowd always follows the easiest path, but that doesn’t mean the crowd is always right. Choose your own path, because no one knows you better than yourself."
