Vastu Shastra Tips: Optimizing Room Placement for Prosperity and Well-being"

Important Principles of Vastu Shastra 1. Shape of Commercial and Residential Spaces Commercial Space: A "Simhmukhi" plot (wide at the front and narrow at the back) is considered auspicious. Residential Space: A "Gau-mukhi" plot (narrow at the front and wide at the back) is considered favorable.
2. Peepal Tree Placement A Peepal tree in the east of a house is inauspicious. A Peepal tree in the west brings positive results.

 3. House Direction and Its Auspiciousness Surya-Vedhi House: A house that is longer from east to west is called "Surya-Vedhi." Chandra-Vedhi House: A house that is longer from north to south is called "Chandra-Vedhi," which is considered beneficial for financial growth.

4. Purification of Land Allowing cows to stay on the land for a full day and night purifies it.

 5. Auspicious and Inauspicious Time for House Construction Auspicious Time: Starting house construction during Shukla Paksha (waxing moon) brings prosperity. Inauspicious Time: Starting construction during Krishna Paksha (waning moon) can lead to theft and misfortune. Avoid starting construction in the months of Chaitra, Jyeshtha, Ashadha, Bhadrapada, Ashwin, Kartik, and Magha. Do not begin construction on Pratipada, Chaturthi, Ashtami, Navami, Chaturdashi, Amavasya, Sundays, or Tuesdays.

 6. Avoiding Twin Houses Constructing two houses joined together is considered inauspicious.

7. Using New Materials in Construction Always use new bricks, iron, stones, clay, and wood for building a house. Reusing materials from an old house is considered harmful and inauspicious.

 8. Rules for Foundation Laying and Bhoomi Pujan The foundation should be laid in the southeast (Agneya) direction. Construction should follow the clockwise direction. The foundation should be laid while remembering the Dhruva (Pole) star. Avoid laying the foundation at midday, midnight, or dusk. Consider the direction of Rahu before laying the foundation.

 9. Sacred Items for Bhoomi Pujan A small copper pot with a lid. A pair of pure silver serpents (Nag and Nagin). A pure silver plate. A small betel nut used in puja. Two whole turmeric pieces. A small trident (Trishul). These items should be placed inside the copper pot filled with Ganga water and installed in the foundation near the main entrance.

10. Impact of a Road in Front of the House If a road passes directly in front of a house, the residents may experience a lack of peace. If moving the house is not an option, immerse 8 kg of black urad dal in water on each birthday to reduce negative effects.

11. Effect of Shadows on the House If a tree, pole, temple, etc., casts a shadow on the house between 9 AM and 3 PM, it brings hardships.

12. Harmful Objects in Front of the House Poles, trees, mud, wells, temples, water flow, walls, or platforms in front of the house are inauspicious. However, if these objects are at a distance at least twice the height of the house, there is no harm.

 13. Obstructions at the Main Entrance If a tree or obstruction stands in front of the main entrance, it can cause diseases and difficulties. If the obstruction is at a distance at least twice the height of the house, it is not considered a defect.

14. Restrictions in the Brahmasthan (Central Space of the House) The Brahmasthan should be free of pillars, walls, or stairs. Keeping waste, leftover food, or impure objects here can cause health issues.

 15. Avoid Inauspicious Paintings Avoid paintings depicting war, crying people, angry faces, or erotic imagery. Paintings of pigeons, crows, hawks, and owls are also considered inauspicious.

16. Mental Stress Due to Vastu Defects Having any of the following in the house can lead to mental stress, financial loss, and health issues:
Three Ganesha idols Two conches Two Sun idols Three goddess idols Two Gomati Chakras Two Shiva Lingas

17. Importance of Afternoon Sunlight Sunlight should not enter the house after noon.

18. Benefits of Auspicious Symbols on the Main Door Placing a Sri Yantra on a copper plate at the main entrance enhances positive energy. Drawing Swastik, Sri, and Om symbols on the main door promotes happiness, peace, and prosperity.

19. Rules for Shiva Lingam and Shaligram in the Worship Room There should not be two Shiva Lingams or two Shaligrams in the house, as this causes disturbances. Any deity's idol should not be larger than 12 fingers (approx. a foot) inside the house. Larger idols should be installed in temples instead.

 20. Remedies for Vastu Defects Draw a 6-inch by 6-inch Swastik symbol with vermilion (sindoor) on the main entrance. This can also be done in areas with Vastu defects. Conducting a continuous 9-day recitation of the Ramcharitmanas helps remove Vastu defects. Performing a 9-day uninterrupted kirtan (devotional singing) is also an effective remedy. These Vastu principles help bring peace, prosperity, and harmony to life.
